In 2020, we began conducting wastewater sampling for major food production and manufacturing facilities namely Sainsburys, Greencore, Berry Gardens and Cheale Meats in line with the UK Health Security Agency. This initiative was undertaken to support the UK government’s commitment to maintaining a consistent food supply in stores and supermarkets.
Through our thorough sampling and analysis, we provided authorities with vital insights to guide staffing decisions and operational adjustments within these establishments, ensuring continuous food production.
Thanks to the success of this project, there were no disruptions or shortages in food supply during the pandemic.
