Kenny, who lives in Portobello is the Director of AQUA CLEAR. Coming from a trade background, he’s always been passionate about the technical and problem solving side of things…so when it comes to technical knowledge and ability where water, utilities and energy saving is concerned, he’s built up decades of extensive experience in these key areas.
It was whilst working for other companies that were continually missing the point that this passion and knowledge led to the realisation that there was a significant gap in the wider marketplace for access to a credible, professional and reliable company who understood the water industry – from treatment to waste to engineering and beyond. And so he took the leap and set up AQUA CLEAR in 2009.
Kenny’s CV is extensive – he’s got a black belt when it comes to knowing his stuff and his career has led him around the world and back again! From a Lecturer in FE for Plumbing apprentices to a Senior Offshore Engineer in Azerbaijan to Project Manager in Oslo, Sweden and Gulf of Mexico delivering multi-million pound projects. Then a Mechanical Team Leader within Edinburgh Council and Energy Manager within Midlothian Council.
More recently, and perhaps notably, Kenny was the Director of Facilities at the Soneva Kiri Resort, Koh Kood in the Gulf of Thailand. This is one of the Earth’s foremost ECO resorts and ECO prize winners. Kenny was responsible for a 65-strong maintenance team looking after nine deep water wells, storage reservoir, fresh water treatment plant, waste water treatment plant, renewables, generators and 37 swimming pools!!
Kenny is also a member of the Institute of Water and International Water Association.
But over and above Kenny’s experience, he is very client focussed, honest and a great communicator…he doesn’t cherry pick business either – everyone receives the same level of service. And with his organised and methodical approach, he has an inbuilt ability to succeed where perhaps others have failed before him – achieving tangible results (multi millions) for his clients.
